Job Description
Scope of Position:
Assist Manager and Supervisor with all aspects of the Air or Ocean Export Department, ensuring the proper and timely movement of freight, and providing exceptional customer service.
- Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow.
- Prepare various documents for international transportation.
- Coordinate and negotiate rates with contracted vendors for space and services.
- Ensure accurate and timely client and vendor billing.
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operating system.
- Interact with customers to arrange their international export shipments, meeting customer service standards.
- Meet compliance with internal policies (OPs) and external government regulations or customer policies.
- Understand department process flow and constantly look for efficiency improvements.
- Ensure all customer SOPs are followed as per the DLSOP.
- Work with the team to meet KPI standards per company procedures.
- Monitor shipment reports to ensure total customer satisfaction.
- Handle overseas communications.
Support the supervisor in the following areas:
- Daily review of workflow and operational reports, updating event codes.
- Audit files and ensure operating process standards are met.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors (airlines, trucking companies, others) and customers.
- Evaluate vendors at defined intervals per company policy, focusing on improvement areas and corrective action plans.
Finances:
- Ensure company credit procedures are followed and used effectively.
- Ensure accurate billing to clients for services performed.
- Accurate and timely billing of vendors and resolve accounting issues.
- Assist manager and supervisor in timely responses to pricing requests and market pricing.
- Participate in transition of new business / updates to existing business.
- Assist in retention calls and complete customer reviews with regular customers to document in CRS.
People:
- Support the supervisor as needed.
- Be a team player and support colleagues and internal clients with timely information and assistance.

- Suggest system/process improvements.

- 1+ year of industry‑specific experience and/or qualifications.
- Good market and product knowledge.

- Proactive, strong organizational skills.
- Hazardous Materials certification (preferred).
- Professional proficiency in English, knowledge of Spanish, Portuguese, and other languages a plus.
