Accounting Specialist

Summary

This position provides critical review of Veteran Travel prior to payment. Assists in processing and reconciling payments, researching variances, and providing customer service to incoming inquiries.

Duties and Functions

* Daily validation of travel cases

* Review and understanding of allowed travel

* Uploading checks to bank, ERP and Shared systems for proper tracking

* Researching and providing feedback to any check inquiries

* Attention to detail is essential

* Weekly review and reconciliation to bank

* Develop and exhibit expert level of technical ability for areas of responsibility.

* Take full responsibility for timeliness, completeness and accuracy and meeting metric goals

Education and Experience

Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or Mathematics

3+ years in Accounting or Finance

Preferred Requirements

Knowledge of expense reimbursements and bank reconciliation

Workday experience

Excel skills to include XLOOPKUPS, Pivot Tables, and large data sets

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (KSA)

Commitment to customer service

A strong team player with superb interpersonal skills

Knowledge of cash, accounts receivable/payable procedures

Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals

Strong attention to detail and goal oriented

Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities

Strong Organizational Skills

Trustworthy and attention to confidentiality

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables

Work Environment/Condition

Remote but ability to travel to office once weekly.

Long hours on computer. Sedentary.

Pay Rate: $60,000
