Accounting Specialist

Summary

This position provides critical review of Veteran Travel prior to payment. Assists in processing and reconciling payments, researching variances, and providing customer service to incoming inquiries.

$60,000 / year

• Daily validation of travel cases
• Review and understanding of allowed travel
• Uploading checks to bank, ERP and Shared systems for proper tracking
• Researching and providing feedback to any check inquiries
• Attention to detail is essential
• Weekly review and reconciliation to bank
• Develop and exhibit expert level of technical ability for areas of responsibility.
• Take full responsibility for timeliness, completeness and accuracy and meeting metric goals

Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or Mathematics

3+ years in Accounting or Finance

• Knowledge of expense reimbursements and bank reconciliation
• Workday experience
• Excel skills to include XLOOPKUPS, Pivot Tables, and large data sets

• Commitment to customer service
• A strong team player with superb interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of cash, accounts receivable/payable procedures
• Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals
• Strong attention to detail and goal oriented
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
• Strong Organizational Skills
• Trustworthy and attention to confidentiality
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables
