Cost Accountant

Gencor is looking for an experienced Cost Accountant who will be responsible for monitoring the inventory balances and assure proper physical control over inventory, proper valuation, and proper revenue recognition. Prepares supporting schedules for recognition of sales and cost of sales. Maintains statistical tracking, update costs, and assists in special projects. Insures that all functions are performed proficiently, accurately, and in accordance with the established policies, procedures and time frames.

ONLY LOCAL CANDIDATES PLEASE. NO RELOCATION. MUST LIVE IN THE ORLANDO AREA.

• Assist in month-end closing procedures:
• Prepare percentage of completion calculation.
• Discuss with production control and obtain agreement.
• Review for excess and obsolete inventory and prepare monthly entry.
• Review for slow-moving inventory and prepare necessary monthly entry.
• Review used equipment listing and activity and prepare necessary monthly entry.
• Obtain sales values from used equipment salesman, adjust for lower of cost or market.
• Prepare LIFO calculation and make entry (quarterly at minimum).
• Update product costing books monthly and distribute to management.
• Perform support calculation for percentage of completion (weekly). Prepare weekly Sales Recognized Forecast sheet.
• Update all costs in the mainframe computer system, as required.
• Calculate Standard Labor and Overhead costs.
• Enter Standard and Frozen Costs for new items.
• Enter only Standard Costs for existing items.
• Journalize inventory transactions with no standard costs.
• Update all graphs and statistical tracking mechanisms, as scheduled.
• Other duties as requested by CFO or Accounting Department.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Attention to Details
• 5+ years’ experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity
