Controller, Finance & Banking, Accounting Manager

Our client is seeking a Financial Controller with strong leadership and a proven track record in property and corporate accounting. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented professional who will oversee the company’s financial records and accounting personnel, working directly with and reporting to the COO. This role is responsible for maintaining all procedures and internal controls related to the company’s financial operations.

• Lead financial reporting and month-end close processes for all properties
• Own property-level budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations
• Maintain oversight of bank accounts, debt schedules, and loan covenants
• Supervise preparation of AR/AP, CAM reconciliations, and lease audits
• Ensure accurate lease accounting and related entries
• Oversee general ledger and financial reporting for corporate-level accounts
• Develop SOPs and internal controls for financial operations
• Support audit and tax preparation with third-party accounting firms

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
• 7–10+ years of accounting experience, including 5+ years in a Controller or senior finance role
• Strong understanding of commercial real estate, lease structures, and property-level accounting
• Proficient in Yardi or similar real estate accounting platforms
• Proven leadership skills, including process development and team oversight
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally
