Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to oversee all aspects of the company’s financial operations. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, compliance, and oversight of accounting processes while partnering closely with leadership to support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate is hands-on, deadline-driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growing environment. This organization is on track to do $25M in 2026 and is rapidly growing!
Key Responsibilities- Financial Oversight: Manage all accounting operations and ensure the timely publication of accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Internal Controls: Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and provide monthly variance analysis to help management understand performance gaps.
- Compliance & Tax: Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Audit Management: Act as the primary liaison for external auditors, managing the year-end audit process and ensuring all documentation is ready and accurate.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and project cash flow to ensure the organization meets its financial obligations and optimizes investment opportunities.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff (A/P, A/R, Payroll), fostering a culture of accuracy and professional development.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance (experience in public accounting is often a plus).
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Certification:
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) is highly preferred. - Technical
Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Excel (pivots, VLOOKUPs, modeling) and experience with ERP systems like Net Suite, SAP, or Sage. - Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
