Job Description & How to Apply Below

A leading hospitality management company known for operating independent, lifestyle, and resort properties is seeking an experienced Director of Finance to lead financial operations across a large, multi‑department property in Orlando.

This role oversees the daily management of accounting, purchasing, payroll processing, and technology functions, while ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting and providing strategic financial guidance to property leadership. The Director of Finance is also responsible for maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, presenting financial insights to ownership, and partnering closely with the General Manager on long‑term financial strategy.

Responsibilities
  • Direct and oversee all accounting practices for assigned properties, including maintenance of accurate financial records, timely reporting, account reconciliations, payroll processing, internal controls, purchasing, accounts payable and receivable, tax reporting, and related functions.
  • Support the relationship with property ownership by coordinating required reporting, preparing concise monthly financial packages, generating custom reports as requested, and participating in ownership and partner meetings.
  • Act as a strategic partner by conducting ROI analyses, supporting capital planning, and contributing to long‑term financial strategies that improve margins and operational efficiency.
  • Lead the internal and external audit processes, review and approve reconciliations and work papers, coordinate auditor visits, respond to audit requests, approve adjustments, and reconcile final audit results.
  • Provide support for debt financing activities, including covenant reporting, lender communications, refinancing needs, and the review of historical and projected cash flows. Ensure cash flow is effectively monitored and managed, and elevate concerns to operational and finance leadership as appropriate.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of all monthly and annual financial statements and reconciliations. Investigate variances in collaboration with department leaders and ensure narratives clearly explain underlying factors.
  • Interpret financial operating results and provide recommendations for cost control, profit improvement, and overall property performance. Serve as an advisor to department heads in understanding financial data and determining appropriate actions.
  • Lead a team of approximately 10 professionals across accounting, finance, purchasing, payroll, and technology. Provide mentorship, ensure strong cultural leadership, recruit and develop talent, and maintain succession planning and cross‑training across functions.
  • Organize and manage the annual budgeting process, including property operating budgets, capital budgets, development budgets, and business plans. Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Review appropriation requests for budget alignment and ensure expenditures remain within authorized levels.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory licenses, permits, leases, contracts, and operational tax obligations.
  • Provide timely status updates to General Managers and Regional Finance leadership to ensure alignment and address issues proactively.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support efficient property operations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; MBA or advanced degree and CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of hospitality finance leadership experience, ideally within complex operations such as food and beverage, golf, and event venues.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high‑performing finance teams.
  • Strong systems background, including ERP platforms, business intelligence tools, point‑of‑sale systems, property management systems, and financial reporting tools (e.g., Profit Sword).
  • Demonstrated confidence presenting financial information to ownership and senior leadership.
  • Experience managing labor, capital projects, and multi‑department financial operations in a hospitality environment.
