Hannover Life Reassurance Company of America (Hannover Re) is looking for a Sr Financial Analyst to join our CSS – Financial Reporting & Valuation department as a full‑time role.

Job Summary

Responsible for quarterly statutory, IFRS and Solvency II financial reporting for assigned complex reinsurance accounts, including analysis of client‑reported electronic data, preparation of financial work papers, and coordination with actuarial teams and auditors. May include supervisory responsibilities.

Essential Functions

(40%) Statutory, IFRS and Solvency II Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and analyze quarterly reporting for assigned complex reinsurance treaties and related retro cessions, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
  • Explain reporting period variances and work closely with actuarial teams to validate recorded amounts.
  • Prepare financial workpaper documentation, schedules and reconciliations for internal deliverables and external audits to substantiate compliance with local and IFRS reporting standards.
  • Consolidate and review asset data for structured market categories to facilitate risk monitoring.
  • Perform forecast upload and review to support the quarterly reporting cycle (if applicable).
  • Review and ensure the financial reporting prepared by direct reports is accurate (if applicable).

(30%) Cash Reporting and Analysis

  • Develop an understanding of treaty guidelines specific to assigned treaties to determine expectations for both parties.
  • Conduct analysis of client‑reported data for accuracy in accordance with treaty guidelines.
  • Communicate potential financial consequences or business risks to appropriate stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Calculate and analyze experience refunds, working funds and loss carry forwards.
  • Record all client reporting details accurately using company business systems.
  • Analyze trend reports for reasonability and balance checks.
  • Review and ensure certain cash reporting prepared by direct reports is accurate (if applicable).

(10%) Problem Solving

  • Identify and investigate client reporting inconsistencies; implement corrections using judgment and best practices.
  • Lead direct reports to resolve problematic accounts (if applicable).
  • Implement procedures to improve processing efficiencies.
  • Coordinate action items arising from quarterly financial reporting with actuarial teams to resolve.

(10%) Internal and External Audits

  • Produce and/or direct ad‑hoc documentation on assigned accounts for internal and external auditors to support the audit cycle.
  • Prepare or direct quarterly PBC items to satisfy auditor requests, including routine and one‑off analytic requests.

(10%) Leadership

  • Support the AVP and VP of Financial Reporting, including preparation of quarterly deliverables and audit requests.
  • Lead special projects and assignments involving multiple team members.
  • Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Manage direct reports to ensure accurate and timely completion of their tasks (if applicable).
You come equipped with Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • BA degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Intermediate Access and Word skills
  • Proficiency in SAP, Power BI, or equivalent systems
  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Ability to collaborate across all levels of employees
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Accounting experience in health insurance or health reinsurance
Travel

Some travel to/from the Orlando office – approximately 5% depending on remote location.

Compensation (Base + Bonus)

$94,000 – $127,200
