Senior Director of Credit and Collections Company Overview:
Kaycha Group Inc, is a leading provider of innovative Cannabis and Hemp testing technologies and methods. We perform product testing to help ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. We provide comprehensive cannabis testing for potency, homogeneity, heavy metals, microbial contamination, mycotoxins, residual solvents, terpenes, and pesticides.
Job Purpose:The Senior Director of Credit and Collections is responsible for leading the organization’s credit policy, accounts receivable management, and collections operations to optimize cash flow, minimize bad debt, and support profitable sales growth. This role will oversee the credit risk assessment process, establish and enforce collection policies, manage a high-performing credit and collections team, and partner with Sales, Legal, and Operations to resolve disputes and drive timely payments.
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a company-wide credit and collections strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
- Establish credit policies, terms, and limits to balance revenue growth with credit risk mitigation.
- Create and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for credit and collections performance, including DSO, bad debt percentage, and dispute resolution timelines.
- Oversee credit evaluation of new and existing customers, including analysis of financial statements, credit agency reports, and payment history.
- Approve high-value credit limit requests and payment term exceptions.
- Monitor industry trends and customer financial health to proactively adjust risk exposure.
Collections Oversight
- Direct all collection activities to ensure timely recovery of receivables while maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Implement escalation procedures for delinquent accounts, including coordination with legal counsel when necessary.
- Develop customer outreach programs and payment plans for at-risk accounts.
Process Improvement
- Lead automation and system enhancement initiatives to improve credit and collections efficiency.
- Standardize dispute resolution processes across regions and business units.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
Team Leadership and Development
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing credit and collections team
- Provide training on credit analysis, negotiation, and collections best practices.
- Set clear performance expectations and conduct regular performance reviews.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales to align credit decisions with business objectives.
- Work with Finance and Accounting to reconcile accounts and ensure accurate reporting.
- Collaborate with Legal on contract language, security instruments, and collections litigation.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in credit and collections, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of reducing DSO, improving cash flow, and minimizing bad debt in a complex business environment.
Competencies:
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Expert-level knowledge of credit analysis, collections strategies, and relevant laws/regulations (e.g., UCC, FCRA).
- Proficient in ERP systems and credit/collections software; experience with automation tools preferred.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex financial data and develop actionable insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must pass the required background check.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
