* Responsible for timely investigations of transactions, trade, and client relationships to ensure consistency with applicable sanctions laws and regulations. Requires a strong technical understanding of U.S. economic and financial sanctions (primarily OFAC).
** Essential Duties and Responsibilities*
* Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.
1. Conduct timely investigations, analysis, and disposition of economic and financial sanctions-related alerts for clients, transactions, trade documents, and other business unit activities to support Truist's compliance with applicable sanctions laws and regulations.
2. Communicate with senior Relationship Managers, senior branch associates and other teammates as needed to gather additional client information to support investigations.
3. Serve as a point of contact for internal sanctions-related questions and support.
4. Apply critical thinking and analytical skills to make well-supported decisions relative to the alert type, follow-up, and disposition.
5. Use various research and screening tools to assess sanctions risk and exposure.
6. Maintain strong knowledge of applicable current and proposed sanctions laws and regulations.
7. Participate in regular sanctions and AML/CFT training that may include webinars, periodicals, and self
-study to maintain timely understanding of sanctions and AML laws and regulations.
8. Keep aware of national and world events and industry trends relating to sanctions compliance to mitigate potential sanctions risk to Truist.

1. College degree.
2. At least four years of relevant experience at a financial institution or relevant government agency.
3. Understanding of U.S. economic and financial sanctions regulations and laws (particularly OFAC) and experience assessing economic and financial sanctions regulations with specific fact patterns.
4. Ability to understand and execute detailed procedures, policies, and regulations that govern the department.
5. Ability to work collaboratively with a team to provide sanctions compliance advice to business units with respect to applicability of policies and implementation of the economic sanctions program and regulatory changes.
6. Ability to work independently, under time constraints, and manage time efficiently and effectively.
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with senior Global Sanctions leadership, business unit managers and external entities.
8. Ability to liaise among internal teams, external business units, and other stakeholders.
9. Strong skills in investigative research and documentation.
10. Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and define issues, establish facts, analyze moderately complex information, and develop substantiated conclusions with minimal supervision.
