Finance Business Partner
Position Summary Actively engages with Enterprise leadership by providing financial expertise, advice, and strategic direction. Identifies improvements and opportunities for the organization through collaboration with the leadership team.
Responsibilities Essential Functions
- Serves as a finance business partner to corporate leadership related to all accounting, budgetary and financial planning activities.
- Provides oversight of financial functions and processes for corporate areas and Enterprise service lines.
- Translates data into a financial picture to help Management make better decisions and respond in a service-oriented fashion to opportunities while identifying risks.
- Is a "go to" person for corporate leaders and operators by being visible, approachable, and viewed as a problem solver and valued resource.
- Examine business unit performance relative to industry benchmarks and make recommendations to the Management team. Maintains tight control of revenue and expenses.
- Provides financial analysis leading to sound business decisions.
- Assure team provides internal and external customers with accurate and timely data to support decision making and compliance.
- Provides accurate internal and external financial accounting and reporting.
- Responsible for the fiscal management of all operating budgets in assigned areas, while monitoring and promoting cost-effectiveness for the organization.
- Oversee the development and preparation of financial and statistical reports to support leadership in business development, strategic planning, and financial performance review.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining reporting to evaluate financial performance compared to key performance indicators.
- Leads budgeting efforts to ensure processes are efficient, effective, and integrated within the System. Works with facility liaisons in assisting with the operating and capital budgets. Provides variance analysis, education and support to operators and others as appropriate.
- Develop and interpret reports to assist leadership with evaluation of trends and/or changes in business practice.
- Oversee the development and preparation of predictive models to assist management with the evaluation of changing regulatory and market forces.
- Collects, analyzes, and presents financial information to assist leadership in identifying risks and opportunities.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships throughout the organization, community and within the field of healthcare.
- Provides direction and perspective on strategic business decisions.
- Remains current on industry trends, key competitors, and other market forces.
- Champions best practices and assess process improvement opportunities that drive improved efficiency and productivity.
- Assist with and oversee initiatives to improve planning processes and to support strategic development with timely analysis of data.
Strategic and Financial Planning
Qualifications Education/Training Minimum bachelor's degree in accounting or another business-related field. MBA preferred
Experience Minimum 5 years' experience in healthcare financial management or auditing with at least three (3) years managing employees. Computer experience required with an emphasis on finance related IT systems management (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Fund Accounting, Budget, Purchasing card, Cost Accounting, etc.), spreadsheets and/or database programs.
