Your Specific Responsibilities
  • Review, evaluate, and process licensure and education applications to determine compliance with applicable Florida Statutes, Florida Administrative Code, Board/Commission requirements, and Division policies.
  • Conduct detailed research of applications, criminal history reports, court records, education records, licensing histories, and supporting documentation to identify deficiencies, determine eligibility, and recommend appropriate action.
  • Prepare written summaries, recommendations, and supporting documentation for applications requiring Board/Commission or management review.
  • Review education provider, course, instructor, and equivalency applications for compliance with statutory and rule requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and assist with Board, Commission and Education agenda materials, ensuring applications and supporting documentation are complete, accurate, and ready for consideration.
  • Respond professionally and accurately to telephone calls, emails, correspondence, and walk-in inquiries from applicants, licensees, attorneys, educators, and the public regarding licensing requirements, education approvals, statutes, rules, and Division procedures.
  • Coordinate with other Department offices and internal stakeholders to resolve licensing, education, and regulatory issues, to include processing child support compliance matters, application deficiencies, and other specialized licensing functions.
  • Research statutes, administrative rules, Division policies, court records, licensing databases, and other available resources to resolve complex questions and support regulatory decisions.
  • Process and maintain electronic licensing records, document imaging, incoming correspondence, faxes, and public records requests while ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing.
  • Participate in special projects, process improvement initiatives, and perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, email systems, databases, and general office equipment.
  • Ability to research, analyze, interpret, and apply statutes, administrative rules, policies, licensing requirements, and regulatory guidance.
  • Ability to analyze information, exercise sound judgment, and develop well-supported recommendations.
  • Ability to evaluate applications, supporting documentation, education records, criminal history information, and other regulatory records for compliance with statutory and rule requirements.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple work assignments while meeting established deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service while responding to complex telephone, email, and written inquiries.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, management, licensees, applicants, educators, attorneys, and the public.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team.

At least one (1) year of professional work experience involving administrative, regulatory, analytical, research, licensing, or customer service responsibilities.

  • Experience preparing and responding to professional telephone inquiries and email correspondence.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to organize work, manage multiple priorities, and provide excellent customer service.
