Position Summary
The Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) II evaluates and interprets laboratory results, analyzing blood and body fluids using both automated and complex manual methods. This role follows established policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality and accuracy of laboratory results within defined time frames.

ResponsibilitiesEducation & Training
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- An associate degree and two years of directly related experience may substitute for the bachelor’s degree (in addition to experience requirements below).
- Successful completion of an approved clinical laboratory training internship.
- Must maintain a current Florida license as a Medical Technologist in the specialty/specialties required for the assigned laboratory section(s).
- National certification preferred, such as:
- American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP)
- American Association of Bioanalysts (AAB)
- American Medical Technologists (AMT)
