Advance Practice Provider, Orlando Health Physician Associate - Clermont (After hours)
Join Orlando Health as an Advance Practice Provider in the Physician Associate Department at Clermont, a part‑time position focusing on inpatient/outpatient management, consultations, and co‑management of patients in acute and primary care settings.
Position SummaryProvides inpatient/outpatient management, consultations, and co‑management of patients in the acute care and practice setting.
Responsibilities- Assess physical and psychosocial status of patients via interview, health history, physical examination, diagnostic studies, and recognize deviations from normal.
- Develop a diagnosis and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team to formulate and implement treatment plan.
- Surgically close wounds, incision and drainage, debridement, dressing (surgeon remains in immediate area).
- Scrub with collaborating surgeon in operating room.
- Perform complex diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as credentialed.
- Diagnose medical and surgical problems and prescribe necessary treatment and services.
- Implement appropriate management based on laboratory results, assessments, diagnostic studies, therapeutic measures, admission and discharge care per evidence‑based medicine.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve patient care issues to foster improvement in patient care and outcomes.
- Dictate and document accurately and timely.
- Perform patient education and maintain preventive health services.
- Conduct or participate in multidisciplinary rounds.
- Participate in department on‑call rotation and/or weekend/holiday rounding as required.
- Prescribe medication.
- Participate in quality initiatives to ensure consistent attainment of key quality indicators.
- Support IRB‑approved clinical research/trials through various activities such as ordering diagnostic tests, prescreening patients, recording results, administering therapeutic interventions, and documenting outcomes.
- Maintain punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, local standards.
- Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Act as role model and resource person for staff.
- Assist in teaching students, residents and interns in complex techniques and procedures.
- Participate in review and revision of policies and procedures.
- Establish relationships with professional and other health‑related groups within the community.
- Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication with diverse populations, including physicians, employees, patients, and families.
- MN or MSN or DNP or PhD or DNS degree in nursing (for Nurse Practitioner).
- Graduation from an accredited physician assistant program (for Physician Assistant).
- Nurse Practitioner: APRN license in Florida; national advanced certification required after July 1, 2006; current BLS certification.
- Physician Assistant:
Current PA licensure in Florida; current BLS/healthcare certification.
