Position: Medical Assistant-Fulltime (Titusville)

Location

Palm Point in Titusville, w/flexibility to cover nearby locations if needed

Shift

7a-4p Mon-Fri, w/potential flexibility to add weekends if needed

Pay Range

Starting at $16/hr, depending on experience

Role and Responsibilities

Our Medical Assistant will work directly with healthcare practice staff to maintain patient records, round in Skilled and Assisted Living Facilities, support office administration, as well as see patients in their homes for the Care Connect program for transitional care.

Some examples of tasks include:
  • Maintain professional appearance/hygiene and personal conduct
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff and management
  • Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Medical Assistant shall communicate on a regular basis with designated office/administration personnel and assigned ARNP and Physician
  • Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocol
  • Communicate basic clinical information to staff and patients
  • Alert Supervisor and seek assistance when an activity or process change at the facility or deviates
  • Work with SNF/ALF staff to obtain patient demographic and insurance data to ensure correct billing information and updates are sent to the billing office
  • Coordinate completion of all clinical documentation from physicians; and work proactively to ensure complete timely documentation and signatures
  • Confirms and clarifies written orders prior to implementation of delegated tasks
  • Pre-filling and updating patients’ electronic health records and charts.
  • Ensure proper documentation for patients visits
  • Monitors patient status recognizing and reporting abnormal findings or changes in medical condition
  • Document work processes as required
  • Transferring lab results to the appropriate provider
  • Follow prescriptions refills procedures
  • Ensure that all necessary diagnostic studies and reports are available for the provider to review
  • Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician
  • Follow and maintain patient records and confidentiality as appropriate for HIPAA compliance
  • Other duties assigned or required
