Job Description
  • Manages incoming calls related to provider coverage at the hospital.
  • Registers new patients in the designated computer system.
  • Speaks to patients about their procedures and obtains necessary authorizations and pretesting paperwork.
  • Assists appointment schedulers and receptionists with scheduling new, post‑op, and established patients.
  • Maintains and updates physician out‑patient orders for follow‑up appointments and diagnostic testing, and communicates with physicians about any difficulties reaching patients.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements.
  • Bilingual, English and Spanish preferred.
Education
  • Associate [Preferred]
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Field Of Study
  • Degree in Business/Accounting/Finance or healthcare related field or ten years of supply chain experience
Work Experience
  • 1+ cardiology and scheduling experience. [Preferred]
  • 1+ experience dealing with hospital departments strongly [Preferred]
  • 1+ experience with computers and associated office software [Preferred]
  • 1+ experience working in a healthcare environment [Preferred]
