Overview

As a medical assistant you will work side-by-side with the physician to ensure all patient’s medical needs are handled in an appropriate, safe, and efficient manner. Your role is to create and maintain a professional, organized and safe environment for our patients, and keep patient appointments running smoothly. You will need to be able to work independently when given projects by the physician, and as a team with other staff members.

Your daily office duties are outlined below. Sometimes there may be an unforeseen circumstance that will require you to help with a task outside of your job description. Your management team will ensure this is communicated with you when necessary.

Schedule, Compensation, and Benefits
  • Work Schedule: 32 hours per week
  • Hourly Rate: $22 - $24 per hour
  • Paid Time Off (PTO): 2 weeks
  • Holidays: 8 company-recognized holidays
Medical

Job Duties
  • Room patient for appointment (Weight loss/nutrition, Review Labs, Office Visit, Physical, etc) including taking vitals - blood pressure and weight & update active medication and supplement list. Let physician know when patient is ready for them and pass on any notes or updates to the patient chart pertaining to the visit.
  • Phlebotomy - Prepare lab requisitions and place orders for lab draw supplies
  • Order medical supplies
  • Give injections – B12, Lipovite, etc testosterone; proper disposal in sharp containers
  • Order injections and injection supplies
  • Perform EKG’s
  • Knowledge of commonly prescribed medications and their dosages
  • Prepare SECA machine by calibrating and entering patient’s vitals
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications and procedures
  • Use of EMR for patient records
  • Assist patients with scheduling appointments with specialists when necessary
  • Facilitate Sleep Study between patient and insurance
  • Refill medications for patients when approved
  • Prepare charts for upcoming appointments
  • Scan in patient records
  • Respond to patients’ emails
  • Act as liaison between physician and patient to communicate medications, dosing, instructions, etc.
  • Maintain cleanliness of treatment rooms, stock treatments rooms with medical supplies
  • Take requests for Diagnostic Rx orders and submit to medical team
