Position Summary

- Responsible for coordinating daily operations and processes for effective registration and scheduling of diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Maintain appropriate departmental schedules.
- Act as a liaison with the Manager and Scheduling/Registration Specialists.
- Coordinate daily activities within the Scheduling/Registration department to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.
- Provide feedback to manager for human resources functions such as hiring, coaching, and counseling.
- Efficiently and accurately gather and input patient demographic information, insurance verification/authorization, and schedules; reschedule and cancel multiple diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Accurately communicate prep information, arrival time and arrival location to patient.
- Input and distribute charge management process on a daily basis.
- Maintain reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
- Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
- Accurately use medical terminology, multi-line phones, and word processing/spreadsheet applications.
- Communicate with Patient Access and clinical departments regarding registration and scheduling issues.
- Takes a proactive role in problem resolution.

Education/Training
High school graduate or equivalent. Medical terminology and/or basic anatomy training required.
Licensure/Certification
None.
Experience
Six (6) years’ experience in clinical registration or scheduling. An associate degree in business, information systems, clinical field or related field may be substituted for four years of experience. A bachelor's degree in business, information systems, clinical field or related field may be substituted for six years of experience.
