Care Team Role - Administrator
Job Purpose:
The Administrator is responsible for the overall operation and services of the Home Health Agency (HHA). The Administrator organizes and directs the agency's ongoing functions and maintains ongoing liaison among the governing body/owner and the personnel.
Qualifications*:
Be a licensed Physician; orBe a Registered Nurse; orHold an undergraduate degree; andHave experience in health service administration and at least one year of supervisory or administrative experience in home health care or related health programs.Florida Requirements:
Additional Administrator requirements must be met as required by FL state regulations:
Must be a direct employee of the agency as defined under Florida law (withholding taxes paid by the agency, a management company, or an employee leasing company).
The Administrator (or their designated alternate) must beavailable to the public during normal business hours as required by Florida regulation (on-site or via telecommunications).
Responsibilities:
Oversees all programs and services of the HHA.Manages all day-to-day operations of the HHA.Ensures that a clinical manager is available during all operating hours.Ensures that the HHA employs qualified personnel.Designates a qualified alternate to assume the same responsibilities and obligations as the Administrator when the Administrator is not available. The pre-designated person must be authorized in writing by the Administrator and the governing body/owner. The pre-designated person may be the Clinical Manager.Ensures the Administrator or a pre-designated person is available during all operating hours.Maintains strategic and operational planning and development of the agency.Directs and monitors the agency’s Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.Is designated as the Compliance Officer by the governing body/owner.Prepares and conducts audits for the Compliance Program.Monitors programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and practices as part of the Compliance Program.Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, standards of practice, policies, and procedures.Reviews agency policies and procedures as needed and at least annually.Ensures the accuracy of public information materials.Prepares and monitors the agency’s budget and financial reports.Handles overall fiscal management of the agency and ensures accurate billing for care/services and agency payroll processes.Prepares or arranges for preparation of the agency’s annual cost report.Informs the governing body/owner of organizational, industry, and regulatory changes or trends.Attends and participates in agency education and committee meetings, as appropriate.Monitors contract services, if any, to ensure quality of care/services and compliance.Reports negative outcomes/findings or sentinel events to state, federal, and accreditation agencies, as applicable.Communicates with staff regarding organizational changes and needs.Discloses changes in information regarding ownership, governing body/owner, or management to appropriate organizations within the required time frames.Maintains confidentiality of all aspects of job performance.Complies with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations in performance of job functions.Physical Demands:
