Job DescriptionAdvent Health will bring a 60-acre health and wellness campus to Lake Nona in late 2026. This location will offer medical innovations on a campus designed around whole person health with comprehensive services, destination lifestyle programs, and much more that will shape the next generation of health care. Our services include emergency services, urgent care, a wide range of medical specialists (including primary care), lab, imaging, orthopedics, sports medicine and rehabilitation.
Responsibilities- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and keep the circulating nurse informed throughout a procedure.
- Maintain high standards and quality in facilitating cost savings and containment.
- Assemble all necessary supplies, equipment, and medications prior to the procedure.
- Support customer and employee satisfaction activities, maintain good relationships with physicians, management, other departments, and staff, and respond to complaints in a timely manner.
- Monitor aseptic technique of the entire surgical team and take immediate corrective action for any breaks in technique.
- Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking, and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. [Required]
- Basic skills related to aseptic/sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation. [Required]
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the healthcare industry. [Required]
- Up-to-date knowledge of surgical instruments and supplies to hand surgeons the correct tools during surgeries. [Required]
- Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and laws at various jurisdictional levels. [Required]
- Ability to understand and process surgeon dictated instructions and directions. [Required]
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office. [Required]
- Ability to consistently demonstrate clear communication skills, strong anticipatory skills, and concentration to detail. [Required]
- Assembly of mechanical devices and knowledge of fundamental human anatomy. [Required]
- Must be able to work well with multiple team members. [Required]
- Ability and willingness to work a flexible schedule and adapt to change. [Required]
- Organizational skills, customer relations, verbal and interpersonal skills. [Required]
- Proficiency in grammar/spelling, and the ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions. [Required]
- Keyboarding (manual) and computer (visual) skills. [Required]
- Ability to multitask and possess excellent communication skills. [Required]
- High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
- Associate [Preferred]
- Technical/Vocational School [Preferred]
- Currently enrolled or successful completion of an approved/accredited school for Surgical Technology
- 2+ years of technical experience in the field [Preferred]
- 1+ years relevant experience [Preferred]
- Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
- State Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR NBSTSA Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) [Required] OR Technician in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) [Required]
