As a Front Office Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, helping create a welcoming and positive experience at every interaction. This role is essential to ensuring smooth front-office operations, supporting patient scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and overall administrative efficiency within the medical center. - Provide
exceptional customer service by greeting patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner - Answer and direct telephone calls while assisting with patient inquiries and requests
- Complete
new patient registration and accurately enter demographic information into the electronic health record system - Verify
insurance coverage, patient demographics, and eligibility information to support accurate billing and patient records - Conduct patient
check-in and check-out processes efficiently and accurately - Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
- Collect co-payments and self-pay balances while maintaining accurate financial records
- Document patient messages, requests, and concerns according to established procedures
- Receive, scan, route, and process incoming documentation and correspondence
- Assist with forms, referrals, medical records requests, and other patient-related documentation
- Maintain efficient patient flow and help minimize wait times throughout the day
- Utilize
Microsoft Office and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for data entry, reporting, and administrative tasks - Ensure compliance with
HIPAA, OSHA, and company policies and procedures - Perform additional duties as assigned
- Previous experience in a
healthcare front office, medical office, or clerical role preferred - Proficiency with
Microsoft Office applications required - Experience with
Electronic Health Records (EHR) preferred - Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to understand and utilize
medical terminology - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience processing payments and using credit card terminals preferred
- Ability to build positive working relationships with patients, providers, and team members
- Bilingual in English and Spanish or English and Creole preferred
