Position SummaryOrlando Health is seeking dedicated Environmental Technician II professionals to join our Environmental Services team. In this role, you will help ensure our facilities remain clean, safe, and welcoming while supporting infection prevention efforts and enhancing the patient experience. As an Environmental Technician II, you'll serve as an essential member of the healthcare team by maintaining high standards of cleanliness, supporting patient throughput, and assisting in the onboarding of new team members.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Clean and disinfect patient rooms, bathrooms, hallways, public areas, and ancillary spaces
- Ensure timely room turnover to support patient admissions and discharges
- Remove bio-medical waste, trash, and soiled linens
- Replenish supplies and change curtains as needed
- Utilize department technology systems, including Bed Management systems
- Operate UV disinfection equipment according to policy
- Follow infection prevention protocols, PPE requirements, and safety standards
- Report maintenance and safety concerns
- Assist with onboarding and training Environmental Technician I and II team members
- Participate in quality improvement and customer experience initiatives
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, infection control, and organizational policies
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Three (3) or more years of experience in:
- Environmental Services
- Healthcare Support Services
- Hospitality
- Housekeeping
- Related fields
- Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST)
