TheImpact You Will Make
The Safety Manager is responsible for leading and advancing Everstory’s enterprise-wide safety strategy. This role serves as the central owner of safety programs, policies, and communications, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while promoting a proactive, field-driven safety culture across cemetery and funeral home operations. The Safety Manager partners closely with leadership and location teams to continuously improve safety performance across all locations to protect employees and reduce incidents.
Responsibilities:- Ensure company-wide compliance with OSHA and applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
- Lead emergency response preparedness, including severe weather readiness and national safety communications.
- Lead investigation of accidents, injuries, and near-misses; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Create and conduct safety training sessions, orientations, and toolbox talks for employees and contractors.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, audits, and training.
- Serve as the owner of the Health & Safety Manual, including updates to policies, SOPs, and regulatory guidance as needed.
- Develop strategic and tactical plans outlining all process steps needed to achieve defined compliance and safety goals.
- Track and communicate organization-wide safety programs, training and projects on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Provide guidance and support to locations on safety issues, corrective actions, and training.
- Partner with Support Center department leadership during planning, implementation, and ongoing phases of programs/projects.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular updates on project/program progress and challenges.
