Position: Dietitian, Registered - Orlando Health - Health Central - Full Time

Position Summary

Orlando Health is a 3,200‑bed system that includes 15 wholly‑owned hospitals and multiple specialty centers. The Clinical Nutrition team provides evidence‑based medical nutrition therapy to patients across a variety of subspecialties. This role supports patient care by developing and implementing individualized nutrition care plans.

Education and Training

Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. regionally accredited university or college and coursework accredited or approved by the Commission on Accreditation of Dietetics Education (CADE) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND).

Licensure & Certification
  • Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Maintain licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist status with the State of Florida.
Experience

None required.

Essential Functions
  • Writes orders per policy.
  • Counsels patients and/or significant others on nutritional principles, dietary plans, and food selections, considering cultural, religious, and ethnic preferences.
  • Develops, implements, and documents nutritional care plans based on assessment of patient nutritional needs and disease state requirements.
  • Demonstrates competency in assessing patients’ nutritional requirements across the lifespan.
  • Demonstrates evidence‑based knowledge of medical nutrition therapy for appropriate care of patients.
  • Communicates dietary history and nutritional care data through the medical record documentation system and participates in interdisciplinary rounds, as applicable.
  • Adheres to Orlando Health policies, procedures, guidelines, mission and vision statements, and commitment to excellence.
  • Maintains regular, punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and applicable federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
  • Represents Orlando Health through outside speaking engagements to the community and/or media events as assigned.
  • Participates in Clinical Nutrition Department task forces or committees as assigned.
