Position: Perinatal Sonographer Senior (CASUAL)

Nemours is seeking a Senior Perinatal Sonographer (CASUAL), FULL‑TIME, to join our team in Orlando, Florida.

The Senior Perinatal Sonographer will provide high quality ultrasound for interpretation and diagnosis by a maternal fetal medicine physician. To act as a mentor and resource for medical students, residents, fellows and sonographers in performing high quality fetal ultrasound scan /fetal echocardiograms as well as assisting them in developing other clinical and administrative skills necessary to their roles. Actively participate in Performance Improvement Projects.

Job Duties
  • Operate all equipment to perform diagnostic echocardiograms using correct parameters based on patient age and diagnosis, including 2D, 3D, Doppler and color Doppler.
  • Demonstrate proficient skills in at least one additional advanced form of imaging; this may include 3D imaging and rendering.
  • Efficiently perform pre‑work by researching relevant prior studies and communicate effectively with ordering or interpreting physicians to define study goals.
  • Measure all M‑mode, 2D, 3D, Doppler, and color Doppler flow patterns, calculate measurements and enter them into patient reports using AS software.
  • Analyze images and correctly annotate them in PACS system.
  • Act as a mentor and resource for students, sonographers and fellows in clinical situations.
  • Assist in administrative duties within the department as requested, including scheduling, research and quality performance, data acquisition and clinical demonstrations.
  • Participate in research studies as requested.
  • Maintain consistent proficiency in competencies for this position.
  • Assist Manager with EPIC, Radiant workflow and PACS system or other relevant EMR system in partner hospital systems.
  • Arrive on shift prior to shift begin time, ready and able to work.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct at all times in behavior and appearance.
  • Travel to satellite locations as needed.
  • Serve as a liaison between Manager and perinatal sonographers as requested by Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Associate's Degree required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience required.
  • ARDMS and Fetal Echo certifications required.
  • American Heart Association BLS Certification required.
