Position OverviewWe are seeking a friendly, professional, and highly organized Bilingual (Spanish-English) Medical Receptionist / Front Desk Coordinator to join our growing medical practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients while providing exceptional customer service, managing scheduling, handling insurance-related tasks, and supporting daily office operations.
This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and experience working with medical insurance and personal injury cases.
Key Responsibilities- Answer and manage incoming phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments.
- Perform patient check-in and check-out procedures.
- Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and eligibility.
- Collect copays, balances, and required patient documentation.
- Assist patients with completing intake forms and registration paperwork.
- Maintain accurate patient records within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Coordinate referrals and communicate appointment information with patients and providers.
- Manage incoming faxes, medical records, and patient correspondence.
- Handle insurance verification and obtain necessary authorizations when applicable.
- Work with patients involved in personal injury cases and maintain proper documentation.
- Assist providers and clinical staff with administrative support as needed.
- Ensure all patient interactions reflect excellent customer service and professionalism.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
- Support daily front office operations and contribute to a positive team environment.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish (required).
- Minimum 1-2 years of medical front desk or medical receptionist experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical insurance plans, benefits verification, and patient responsibility.
- Experience working with personal injury patients and cases preferred.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with EMR/EHR systems.
- Experience with Athenahealth or similar medical software preferred.
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office.
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented attitude.
- Insurance verification and authorization experience.
- Understanding of medical terminology.
- Experience handling high call volumes and appointment scheduling.
- Ability to effectively communicate with both patients and providers.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
