Clinical Research Supervisor
Job Description
The Clinical Research Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the conduct of both industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical trials in alignment with trial protocols, FDA regulations, and ICH/GCP guidelines. This role involves acting as a clinical study coordinator while also mentoring and developing clinical study coordinators and research staff within the research enterprise at the institute level.
Responsibilities
+ Provide oversight of clinical trials to ensure adherence to trial protocols, FDA regulations, and ICH/GCP guidelines.
+ Function as a clinical study coordinator and assist in mentoring clinical study coordinators and research staff.
+ Work closely with Core Managers to schedule clinical operations and facilitate the initiation and completion of clinical research studies.
+ Assist the manager with daily supervision and annual evaluations of clinical research staff.
+ Maintain clinical competencies in physical assessment, phlebotomy, and IV insertion, while practicing Universal Precautions and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
+ Ensure cleanliness and preparedness of clinical spaces, including set-up and turnover procedures according to SOPs.
+ Participate in training programs to maintain licensure.
+ Perform supervisory duties such as selection, oversight, development, and performance management of research staff.
+ Supervise daily activities of the research team, including staffing schedules affected by research protocols.
+ Assist Clinical Operations Manager in maintaining inventory levels, ordering equipment and supplies, and maintaining clinical supply areas.
+ Provide effective clinical research study coordination, including planning, organizing, and managing all related activities.
+ Collaborate with AHRI Core Managers to optimize workflow and scheduling for daily operations.
+ Interface with AHRI Cores to ensure initiation and completion of clinical trials.
+ Develop and maintain SOPs under the direction of the Clinical Research Operations Manager.
+ Monitor and evaluate the quality and safety of clinical operations within the department.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in Nursing
+ Two years of clinical research experience or experience as a clinical research nurse
+ Certified Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC)
+ Current, active State of Florida Nursing License
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ Master's degree in Nursing is preferred
+ Five years of clinical research experience with increasing people management responsibilities is preferred
+ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred
+ Other applicable certifications such as medical assistant, medical technician, or phlebotomy
Work Environment
The position is based on campus and involves collaboration with various clinical settings to implement processes that optimize workflow and scheduling for day-to-day operations. The work environment includes maintaining a clean and prepared clinical space, and adherence to all safety and regulatory guidelines.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
