Position Summary

The Mental Health Tech provides direct care to children, adolescents and adult patients with psychiatric disorders, to ensure the safety and well being of the patients. MHTs have the primary responsibility for ensuring the patient’s safety on the unit.

Patient Observation and Monitoring
Facilitating Therapeutic Groups
Conducting Searches and Securing Contraband
Assisting with Daily Living Skills
Patient Behavior and Milieu Management
Documentation in the Patient Record

Qualifications

Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Investigation. Please visit the following link for more information:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Two years experience working in a psychiatric setting
Handle with Care, Verbal De-escalation and CPR training (May be acquired after hire)
Effective Oral and Written Communication Skills
Team work
Hours:

Day Shift: 7 AM - 7 PM (Rotating Weekends Required) / Night Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM (Rotating Weekends Required)
Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations (Week 1: M-F 8 AM - 5 PM)
