Psych (Mental Health) Technician
University Behavioral Center, located in Orlando, Florida, is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of patient care practices under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing high-quality care to psychiatric patients. This role involves monitoring our patients and facilitating group activities in our units.
This individual will be working closely with patients experiencing psychiatric disorders, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while promoting recovery and rehabilitation. Previous experience working directly with patients in a psychiatric facility or rehabilitation program is highly preferred.

Qualifications:
- High school graduation. Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Current CPR or BLS certification.
- Must have at least one year of experience working in an inpatient hospital setting with patients aged 5-65yrs+.
Skills:
- Experience with behavioral health patients is preferred.
- Knowledge of patient care principles is beneficial.
- Competence in taking vital signs accurately.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Strong critical thinking and reasoning skills.
