Area Event Manager
Loews Hotels at Universal Orlando is looking for an Area Event Manager to provide outstanding service in coordination and execution of convention, meeting, and rooms-only event business across multiple locations. The role is responsible for all event details and execution from assignment through final payment processing, partnering with hotel operating departments to ensure group events and client expectations are met and exceeded.
Responsibilities- Review all assigned group files, including contracts and addenda, for accuracy.
- Lead client correspondence, facilitate communication, and introduce operational and vendor partners.
- Build client relationships through consistent, professional communication and support.
- Outline event details in Banquet Event Orders and other reports to provide timely information for hotel departments.
- Communicate event details, deadlines, and key documents to clients; obtain approvals and ensure client understanding of the planning process.
- Partner with group reservation desk and billing departments regarding reservation and payment needs.
- Prepare comprehensive group resumes containing all relevant event information for operational execution.
- Distribute accurate Banquet Event Orders and group resumes by established deadlines.
- Determine and coordinate pre-convention and other internal or guest-facing planning meetings for assigned groups.
- Maintain accuracy of booking information in Delphi, including space blocking, food & beverage details, and attachment of key documents.
- Accurately forecast and report group food & beverage spend.
- Oversee group room block performance and report on room utilization.
- Drive incremental banquet food & beverage and room rental revenue to meet department budget goals.
- Attend all relevant hotel meetings and present where appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum 3 years event management experience in a full-service luxury hotel handling large groups of 500 or more.
- Knowledge of hotel operational departments.
- Ability to partner effectively with clients, guests, and all levels of hotel staff and management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Delphi experience preferred; diagramming software experience preferred.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed.
