DescriptionSummary:
The Convention Services Setup Supervisor is responsible for coordinating daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring all meeting and event spaces meet hotel standards. This role supports management by performing administrative duties, overseeing service quality, and maintaining a safe, clean, and guest-focused environment. The position requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a commitment to exceptional guest service
Responsibilities:
- Assign staff their work duties.
- Supervise associates to ensure productivity, adherence to standards, and teamwork.
- Communicate daily expectations, updates, and operational needs to staff.
- Inspect all assigned areas for safety hazards and compliance with hotel safety guidelines.
- Oversee detailing and cleaning services for meeting spaces and related areas.
- Identify guests' needs and provide anticipatory service.
- Inventory for accounting and ordering purposes.
- Open meeting space for the day's activities.
- Inform management of all work done for the day and the next day and pass information for the next day.
- Duties and responsibilities include formulating policies and managing daily operations.
- Assist with setup when needed.
- Uphold the company's drug-free, tobacco-free, and nicotine-free policies within the workplace.
- All other duties as assigned.
Experience/
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Convention Services Setup experience required.
- 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in hospitality, hotels, housekeeping, banquets, event operations, or facilities management preferred.
- Proven ability to supervise teams, monitor productivity, and maintain service standards.
- Experience conducting inspections for cleanliness, safety, and quality assurance.
- Inventory management experience, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
- Customer service experience with a demonstrated ability to anticipate and respond to guest needs.
- Experience coordinating meeting room, banquet, or event space setup and breakdown.
- Familiarity with shift handoff procedures, reporting, and communication with management.
- Ability to lift- up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to legally work in the USA.
Education and Certification(s)/License(s):
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
