The Banquet Set-Up Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms, banquet spaces, and event venues for conventions, meetings, banquets, and special events. This position ensures all room layouts, equipment, and event details are executed accurately according to Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and client specifications while supervising and supporting the banquet setup team to deliver exceptional service and seamless event execution.
Responsibilities:- Assign daily work responsibilities and event setup schedules to banquet team members to ensure timely and accurate event execution.
- Anticipate guest and client needs, delivering exceptional customer service and promptly resolving concerns to enhance the guest experience.
- Supervise, coach, and support banquet setup associates to maintain productivity, service standards, and departmental expectations.
- Monitor and manage inventory of banquet equipment, supplies, and materials; assist with ordering and inventory control processes.
- Maintain ongoing communication with management and other departments regarding event requirements, operational needs, and staffing priorities.
- Open, inspect, and prepare meeting rooms, event spaces, and function areas for daily operations and scheduled events. space for the day activities.
- Read, interpret, and execute banquet event orders (BEOs), floor plans, and room setup diagrams to ensure all event spaces are arranged according to client specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections of banquet and public areas to ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and operational procedures.
- Provide detailed shift reports and communicate completed work, pending tasks, and next-day event requirements to management and incoming supervisors.
- Assist management in coordinating daily banquet operations and implementing departmental procedures and service standards.
- Oversee the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of banquet spaces, meeting rooms, storage areas, and associated service areas.
- Ensure outdoor event spaces, pool deck areas, and other assigned venues are clean, properly maintained, and event-ready.
- Identify potential safety hazards and take immediate corrective action or report concerns to management.
- Lead complex room transformations and large-scale event setups while assisting team members as needed to ensure successful event execution.
- Uphold the company's drug-free, tobacco-free, and nicotine-free policies within the workplace.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 1+ years of banquet set-up experience required.
- Experience interpreting BEOs, room layouts, and setup diagrams to accurately prepare event spaces according to client and operational requirements.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift- up to 25 lbs. consistently and 50 lbs. infrequently.
- Must be able to legally work in the USA.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
