Monday - Friday (Full Time) 7:30AM – 4:30PM

Human Resources Assistant

The Human Resources Assistant helps with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources department. It is the function of the HR Assistant to delight their coworkers and help them to feel engaged and understand their value to the teams they work with. The HR Assistant carries out responsibilities in some of the following functional areas including, HRIS, employee relations, recruiting, organizational development, administration, and employment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the onboarding process for all new hires consisting of verifying employment eligibility, background checks, pre-employment drug testing, motor vehicle record check, and any other testing or requirements specific to the position being filled as directed by the HR Manager.
  • Help new hires complete onboarding in the HRIS and complete employer sections.
  • Make welcome calls to new hires and follow up with them throughout the onboarding process.
  • Virtually verify I-9 documentation in accordance with USCIS guidelines.
  • Present orientation for new hires including explaining employee benefits, company policies, employee handbooks, reporting requirements, etc.
  • Continually look to improve the onboarding experience. Develop and implement changes to the onboarding process including the application, onboarding paperwork, screenings, orientation, and new hire materials.
  • Work with managers to find new and innovative ways to provide a delightful onboarding experience throughout the new hire’s first 365 days.
  • Set up employee file in HRIS for new employees: share documents, enter EEO data, configure time & labor settings, update directory, enter company property info, and configure pay setup.
  • Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
  • Maintain all employee files in the HRIS; ensure all relevant documents are uploaded.
  • Assist in creating and updating job descriptions.
  • Maintain company directory with current phone numbers, email addresses, and pictures.
  • Meet with employees and managers in accordance with our open-door policy.
  • Assist in facilitating company-wide and new-hire training.
  • Create and send out surveys: employee experience survey, exit interview, training survey, etc.
  • Stay informed with law changes and best practices in human resources management.
  • Assist the HR Manager with various research projects and/or special projects as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field is a Plus
  • At least 1-2yrs of Customer Service & Administrative Experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as Public Speaking Skills.
  • Ability to focus and stay on-task in a high-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) & Apple IOS Products
