Description SCOPE

Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, the Senior HR Generalist is responsible for executing and supporting core human resources functions across the full employee lifecycle. This role serves as a strategic partner to management and a primary resource for employees, ensuring compliance, operational excellence, and alignment with Lakeshore Management’s policies, culture, and business objectives. Strong focus on laws, policies and employee relations management as well as coaching and mentoring.

This Senior HR Generalist operates with a high level of independence, discretion, and accountability while supporting departmental goals and company-wide HR initiatives and serving as a key advisor to the Director of HR.

ESSENTIAL CORE RESPONSIBILITIES HR Compliance & Regulatory Oversight
  • Ensure personnel files and employee records are maintained in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
  • Audit HRIS data integrity, employment status changes, and documentation accuracy.
  • Lead I-9 compliance and tracking.
  • Administer and ensure compliance with FMLA, ADA, LOA, disability, and related leave programs.
  • Interpret and apply employment laws; provide guidance to leadership on compliance implications and risk mitigation.
  • Prepare and support EEO-1 reporting, ACA compliance, unemployment claims management, and employment verifications (VOE).
  • Support internal and external audits as required.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
Employee Relations & Performance Management
  • Serve as primary escalation point for employee relations matters.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Partner with managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and documentation.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leadership regarding employee management, policy interpretation, and corrective actions.
  • Respond to employee concerns in a timely, professional, and solution-oriented manner.
Training & Development
  • Lead and facilitate training for new and existing supervisors on HRIS functionality, performance management processes, and HR best practices.
  • Provide ongoing coaching to leaders on employee relations, documentation standards, and corrective action processes.
  • Support leaders in navigating performance conversations, investigations, and policy interpretation.
  • Partner with the Director of HR to identify leadership development needs and training opportunities.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining training materials, guides, and HR process documentation.
HR Metrics, Reporting & Workforce Insights
  • Track and analyze key HR metrics including turnover, headcount, time-to-fill, leave trends, compliance tracking, and performance management activity.
  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports to support leadership decision-making.
  • Identify trends, gaps, and areas of risk or opportunity; present findings and recommendations to the Director of HR.
  • Support compliance reporting requirements through accurate data collection and analysis.
HRIS & Data Management (Paycom)
  • Manage and troubleshoot HRIS functionality and system enhancements.
  • Lead HRIS audits, surveys, and module implementations as assigned.
  • Analyze workforce data to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate data reporting and compliance tracking.
Process Improvement & Strategic HR Initiatives
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance HR efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assist in development and updating of HR forms, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead or support HR initiatives, projects, and research efforts.
  • Promote a culture of compliance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Director as needed.
Organizational Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and employees across the organization.
  • Promote company culture and uphold Lakeshore’s ethics, policies, and professional standards.
  • Foster collaborative relationships across departments.
Onboarding Support
  • Provide support and backup to the HR Specialist in onboarding processes from offer acceptance through employee integration.
