Job Purpose

The Senior HR Manager is a hands‑on HR leader for our Florida Project, and will partner closely with the Head of Human Resources to support day‑to‑day HR operations, develop junior HR team members, and ensure continuity, consistency, and sound judgment across the HR function. This role plays a critical leadership and mentorship function while remaining actively involved in employee relations, compliance, and operational execution.

The Senior HR Manager serves as a trusted extension of HR leadership and provides coverage and decision‑making support during planned or unplanned absences, ensuring uninterrupted HR service to the business.

Responsibilities HR Team Leadership & Mentorship
  • Provide daily guidance, coaching, and professional development support to junior HR team members
  • Serve as a resource for complex questions related to employee relations, documentation, policy interpretation, and investigations
  • Reinforce professional HR judgment, consistency, and confidence within the HR team
  • Model strong HR decision‑making and ethical standards in alignment with the Head of HR
Employee Relations & Compliance
  • Lead and support employee relations matters, including investigations, complaints, performance management, and corrective action
  • Review and provide input on disciplinary documentation and termination decisions to ensure consistency and compliance
  • Apply federal, state, and local employment laws appropriately across multiple jurisdictions
  • Partner with the Head of HR on risk mitigation and defensible HR practices
Leadership Coverage & Continuity
  • Provide HR leadership continuity during periods when the Head of HR is unavailable (vacation, illness, travel)
  • Represent HR in meetings or discussions as needed, ensuring alignment with established HR direction and values
  • Exercise independent judgment within defined authority while keeping HR leadership informed
Manager & Operations Support
  • Coach managers and supervisors on performance management, attendance, conduct, and employee relations issues
  • Serve as a point of escalation for sensitive or complex HR matters requiring senior‑level insight
  • Partner with Operations and leadership to ensure HR practices are practical, consistent, and legally sound
Operational Excellence
  • Support the execution of HR processes to ensure reliability, clarity, and consistency
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen HR practices while maintaining alignment with organizational priorities
  • Maintain a strong HR presence that balances empathy, structure, and accountability
Experience Requirements
  • 7–10+ years of progressive human resources experience
  • Active HR certification required (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, or SHRM‑SCP)
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring, coaching, or supervising HR professionals
  • Strong background in employee relations, investigations, and performance management
  • Experience supporting multi‑site and/or operations‑heavy environments
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws (multi‑state exposure preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and operate independently in complex situations
  • High emotional intelligence, professionalism, and discretion
