We are seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources to lead HR strategy and operations for a residential homebuilding organization based in Orlando, Florida. This role serves as a strategic partner to executive leadership while overseeing all aspects of human capital management including talent acquisition, employee relations, organizational development, compliance, and culture.
The ideal candidate will bring direct HR leadership experience within the homebuilding industry and have previously held a Manager-level or higher HR role with a private or public home builder
. This individual should understand the operational dynamics of residential homebuilding and be comfortable supporting both corporate and field-based teams.
Strategic HR Leadership
- Partner with executive leadership to align HR strategies with business objectives.
- Support organizational planning, workforce development, and succession planning.
- Lead initiatives that strengthen company culture, employee engagement, and retention.
- Oversee recruiting strategy across corporate, construction, sales, land, and operational functions.
- Develop workforce planning strategies to support operational growth and staffing needs.
- Implement initiatives that improve candidate attraction and hiring efficiency.
- Serve as the primary resource for complex employee relations matters.
- Coach managers and leaders on performance management, communication, and conflict resolution.
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional growth.
- Lead performance management processes and leadership development programs.
- Partner with department leaders to create training and development opportunities for employees at all levels.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Oversee HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Manage HR systems, benefits administration, compensation structures, and reporting.
- Provide leadership and direction to the HR function.
- Establish scalable HR processes and systems to support organizational growth.
Required
- Manager-level or higher HR leadership experience within a private or public home builder
- Strong understanding of the residential homebuilding industry
- Experience supporting both corporate and field-based teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Industry experience within homebuilding required
