We employ more than 200 people and operate 42 retail locations across multiple states. Our corporate office, manufacturing facility, warehouse and delivery operations are based in Ocoee, Florida. As we continue expanding into additional states, including California, maintaining compliant and consistent employment practices is a growing priority.
Position OverviewParadise Grills is seeking an experienced Human Resources & Recruiting Manager for a full-time, on-site position at our corporate office in Ocoee, Florida.
This is a hands-on role with a significant focus on recruiting. The person in this position will lead full-cycle recruiting for retail, manufacturing, warehouse, delivery and corporate positions while managing the company’s day-to-day human resources responsibilities.
This position also requires practical multi-state HR experience. The successful candidate must be able to identify, research and help implement state-specific employment requirements as the company enters new markets. Experience supporting employees in California is highly preferred due to the state’s complex employment laws.
The ideal candidate is organized, responsive and comfortable working independently while supporting employees and managers across a fast-paced, multi-location organization.
Recruiting Responsibilities- Lead full-cycle recruiting for positions throughout the company
- Partner with managers to identify staffing needs and develop job requirements
- Create job postings and develop recruiting strategies for open positions
- Proactively source candidates through job boards, referrals, social media and other recruiting channels
- Review résumés, screen applicants and conduct initial interviews
- Coordinate interviews with hiring managers
- Prepare employment offers and coordinate background checks and pre-employment requirements
- Maintain regular communication with candidates and hiring managers throughout the hiring process
- Manage multiple open positions and hiring priorities simultaneously
- Build and maintain candidate pipelines for frequently hired positions
- Coordinate onboarding and help ensure new employees have a smooth start
- Track open positions and recruiting activity
- Support employee engagement and retention efforts
- Support employees and managers across multiple states and locations
- Respond to employee questions and serve as a day-to-day HR resource for managers
- Manage employee records, status changes, transfers and terminations
- Handle employee relations matters, workplace complaints and conflict resolution
- Conduct or assist with workplace investigations
- Guide managers through performance concerns, corrective actions and proper documentation
- Coordinate employee performance reviews
- Administer employee benefits, including new-hire enrollments, terminations, qualifying life events and annual open enrollment
- Manage workers’ compensation and unemployment claims
- Coordinate FMLA, state-specific leave programs and other leaves of absence
- Maintain personnel files, HR policies and the employee handbook
- Maintain accurate employee information in ADP Workforce Now
- Assist with HR reporting, audits and other projects as needed
- Help ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment requirements
- Monitor employment-law developments in the states where the company operates
- Research and help implement requirements when the company enters a new state
- Identify state-specific requirements related to wage and hour practices, employee classifications, required notices, paid leave, recordkeeping and terminations
- Review company policies, forms and procedures to determine when state-specific changes are necessary
- Support the company’s expansion into California by helping establish compliant onboarding, employment and termination practices
