Flagship Facility Services, Inc. is looking for an HR Generalist with a solid generalist skill set and experience including strengths in labor relations and field operations. The successful candidate will possess strong planning, organizational, analytical, communication, collaboration skills, and have demonstrated the ability to effectively manage multiple projects in an extremely fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have significant experience operating in a heavy union environment and interacting with a blue-collar workforce.

Must be able to speak both English and Spanish.

This position will be on site in close proximity to Orlando International Airport. Supporting 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift operations.

Essential Functions
  • Provide HR support to our Operations Team
  • Union-experience required.
  • Solid understanding of labor laws regarding hourly wage laws and time keeping
  • Experience with managing work related injury/Worker’s Comp cases and reporting.
  • Conducts new employee orientations; conducts reference checks and background checks.
  • Implement and administer the company’s human resources policies and practices.
  • Establish and maintain both paper and electronic employee files/information.
  • Assist to ensure that employee relations issues, including the investigation and resolution of employee complaints, are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • Ensure that Flagship’s operation remains in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist to ensure that safety, workers compensation, and other risk management programs and procedures are fulfilled in an effective, legally compliant, and timely manner.
  • Provide meaningful employment-related reports in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Develop and nurture effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders, including those at Corporate and other regions
  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Administers compensation program; monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  • Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, and communicating benefit information to employees.
  • Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System records and compiles reports from database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Knowledge of Workday HRIS
  • Recruitment & Staffing skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong follow up and organizational skills for our client group.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work well in an environment with a constant change.
  • Outside client relations experience
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills
  • Workers Compensation knowledge
  • Be adaptable and flexible to an evolving workplace.
  • Must be Bi-lingual English/Spanish (Required)
Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or equivalent education and/or experience. HR certification a plus.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years customer-centric, business-aligned, operationally oriented Human Resources
