Sr. Dev Sec Ops EngineerDescription of specific duties in a typical workday for this position:
- The Dev Sec Ops Engineer (Data Platform) provides secure Dev Sec Ops engineering support for enterprise data platforms, enabling reliable, scalable, and compliant data ingestion, processing, storage, and analytics. Individuals integrate security, automation, and continuous delivery practices into data platform development and operations to support trusted, high-availability data services across the enterprise.
- Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for data platforms; integrating security controls and compliance checks into automated workflows; and supporting secure deployment and operation of data services, pipelines, and analytics environments. The Dev Sec Ops Engineer (Data Platform) collaborates with data engineers, cloud architects, cybersecurity personnel, and program stakeholders to ensure security, performance, and reliability are embedded throughout the data lifecycle.
- Additional duties include supporting containerization and orchestration of data services; implementing infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions; integrating vulnerability scanning and monitoring tools; supporting identity and access management for data platforms; and assisting with RMF and compliance documentation. The role monitors platform performance and security posture supports incident response and remediation and continuously improves automation and operational efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting Dev Sec Ops , platform engineering, or secure data platform operations within a DoD, Federal, or large enterprise environment
- Demonstrated experience with:
- Dev Sec Ops practices and CI/CD pipelines
- Data platforms, data pipelines, or analytics environments
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and automation tools
- Containerization and orchestration technologies
- Security integration and compliance support
- Collaboration across data, cloud, and cybersecurity teams
- Active Secret Clearance
- Experience supporting enterprise data platforms, data lakes, or analytics ecosystems
- Familiarity with:
- Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar)
- Data pipeline technologies (ETL/ELT frameworks)
- Kubernetes and container security
- Monitoring and logging tools for data platforms
- NIST SP 800-series and RMF requirements
- Certifications such as:
- Dev Sec Ops or cloud platform certifications
- Security+ or cloud security credentials
