Team Description

This role is on the Data Platform Engineer Team. We provide day‑to‑day management and oversight of the technologies and services supporting numerous data and analytic platforms across the Enterprise. The team covers data analytics domains including financial, HCM, legal, tax, and intellectual property. There are four distinct areas within the group:
Data Integration, Data Warehouse, Data Lakes, and Analytics & Reporting on cloud‑based and on‑prem platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise coupled with functional experience on the assigned platforms, working with technology partners and business stakeholders for a group of application technologies.

What You’ll Do
Solution Support
  • Act as the technology subject matter expert, partnering with stakeholders and clients to address issues and recommend/implement enhancements.
  • Investigate and resolve production‑related issues in a timely manner from end user (UI) to persistence layer.
  • Identify and mitigate risks to the service delivery and proactively resolve issues before they impact service levels.
  • Lead the technical recovery of major system outages, interfacing with vendors and outsourced service teams.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation to enable efficient support and assess future requests.
  • Monitor service performance and recommend areas for continuous improvement, including application performance management.
  • Participate in on‑call schedules or rotations (where applicable).
Vendor Management
  • Oversee vendor partners in resolving incidents, problems, and requests, ensuring service level and quality targets are met.
  • Gather requirements for minor enhancements and oversee the resulting product from vendors.
  • Implement continuous improvement on existing technical solutions.
  • Drive adoption of agile development methodologies, focusing on improving velocity and quality through Dev Ops practices and automated testing.
  • Partner with the application security team on “security by design,” ensuring all solutions meet security standards.
  • Collaborate with QA, UX, and Release Project Managers to ensure deliverables are on time and of high quality.
  • Participate in problem analysis meetings and post‑implementation reviews to document learnings and drive continuous improvement.
Engineering Support
  • Design and implement technology solutions in partnership with Solution Architects, Product & Engineering Managers to support business objectives.
  • Champion operational excellence by making technology delivery and support functions efficient, easy to execute, and effectively measured.
  • Ensure solutions meet business expectations through capacity, performance, and availability management.
  • Coordinate the development and ongoing maintenance of Disaster Recovery plans.
  • Maintain the technology currency roadmap.
  • Define engineering support best practices and provide technical mentorship.
  • Oversee security and vulnerability management activities.
  • Research third‑party products to provide added business value.
  • Recommend and initiate new technology analysis for application initiatives.
  • Maintain a moderate technical expertise level by staying current with relevant changes and knowledge.
