Data Engineer, Cloud Computing
Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Data Engineer / Data Architect with strong expertise in Snowflake, AWS, and Talendto support data architecture and data acquisition efforts across projects currently in scope. This role will design, build, and optimize scalable data solutions while working closely with technical and business stakeholders.
This is ahybrid role based in Orlando, requiring a local candidate. The position is acontract through the end of the year, with the potential to extend or convert based on performance and business needs. Experience in a public sector or regulated environment is a strong plus.
Key Responsibilities- Design and support data architecturealigned to business, analytics, and operational needs
- Build, maintain, and optimize data pipelines using
Talendfor data acquisition and integration - Implement and manage
Snowflakedata warehouse solutions, including data modeling, performance tuning, and cost optimization - Leverage
AWS services(e.g., S3, EC2, Lambda, Glue, IAM) to support scalable and secure data platforms - Collaborate with application, analytics, and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver reliable solutions
- Ensure data quality, lineage, governance, and documentation across data pipelines and platforms
- Support ingestion of structured and semi-structured data from multiple source systems
- Apply best practices for security, compliance, and access controls within cloud and data environments
- Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to data standards and best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline, performance, and integration issues
- Proven experience as aData Engineer and/or Data Architect
- Strong hands‑on experience with Snowflake
- Experience building data integrations usingTalend
- Solid experience working inAWS cloud environments
- AWS Certification required, such as:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional
- AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty
- Snowflake Certification preferred, such as:
- Snow Pro Core (preferred)
- Snow Pro Advanced (preferred)
- Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT, and cloud data architectures
- Proficiency in SQL and data modeling
- Ability to work across teams and translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Must be local to the Orlando area and able to work in a hybrid on‑site/remote schedule
- Experience inpublic sector or regulated environments(government, healthcare, utilities, financial services, etc.)
- Familiarity with data governance, compliance, and audit requirements
- Experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Cloud Formation)
- Experience supporting enterprise‑scale data platforms
