Role Description

This is a full-time on-site opportunity located in Orlando, FL, for a Windows Server Systems Engineer.

The Windows Server Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of Windows Server environments for client and internal systems. This role requires deep technical expertise in Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, virtualization, and security, with a strong emphasis on reliability, performance, and documentation. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, technically curious, and comfortable supporting both project‑based work and ongoing operational needs.

Key Responsibilities Windows Server Administration
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (2019, 2022, and newer)
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy Objects (GPOs), DNS, DHCP, and certificate services
  • Perform server hardening, patching, and lifecycle maintenance
  • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity
  • Design and support virtualized environments (Hyper‑V, VMware)
  • Manage storage, file services, and backup/restore solutions
  • Support disaster recovery planning and testing
  • Maintain documentation for server configurations and changes
Security & Compliance
  • Implement Windows security best practices and baselines
  • Manage certificates, authentication, and access controls
  • Respond to security events and participate in remediation efforts
  • Support audits and compliance requirements where applicable
Automation & Tooling
  • Use Power Shell to automate administrative tasks and system management
  • Leverage Windows Admin Center and native Microsoft tools
  • Improve repeatability and reliability through scripting and standardization
Project & Client Support
  • Participate in server-related projects including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments
  • Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to deliver solutions on time
  • Provide escalation-level support for complex server issues
  • Communicate technical information clearly to internal teams and clients
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of hands‑on Windows Server administration experience
  • Strong expertise in Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (Hyper‑V and/or VMware)
  • Proficiency with Power Shell for administration and automation
  • Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls)
  • Experience working in a managed services or consulting environment preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Azure or hybrid (on‑prem + cloud) environments
  • Microsoft certifications (e.g., Windows Server, Azure Administrator)
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and security tooling
  • Familiarity with PSA/ticketing systems and structured project workflows
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting mindset
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Comfortable owning issues through resolution
  • Commitment to continuous learning and skill development
Education
  • A college degree is preferred.
