Job Description

This position serves as the primary technical bridge between AI platforms and Orange County's enterprise systems. This senior‑level position designs and implements integration architectures that connect AI services with existing business applications including ERP, CRM, document management, and workflow systems. Responsible for orchestrating AI workflows across multiple departments, ensuring data flows securely between systems, and maintaining compliance with county security and privacy policies.

Leads change management efforts for AI deployments, coordinates with vendors and stakeholders, and develops operational dashboards to monitor AI system performance. Work is performed with considerable independence under the supervision of the IT Project Leader. Performance is reviewed through observations, reports and results achieved.

Representative Duties / Assignments
  • Design and implement integration architectures connecting AI platforms (Azure OpenAI, AWS Bedrock, on‑premise LLM servers) to county enterprise systems including ERP, SharePoint, Service Now, and department‑specific applications.
  • Orchestrate AI workflows using automation platforms (Power Automate, Logic Apps, custom middleware) to enable AI‑assisted processes across multiple county departments simultaneously.
  • Implement secure data pipelines for AI consumption including data masking, PII protection, and audit logging to meet government compliance requirements (CJIS, HIPAA, Florida public records laws).
  • Develop and maintain operational dashboards that monitor AI system health, usage metrics, cost tracking, and performance SLAs across all integrated AI services.
  • Lead change management and deployment coordination for AI projects, ensuring smooth rollouts and minimal disruption to county operations.
  • Liaise with county departments, vendors, and technical teams to translate business requirements into technical integration specifications.
  • Provide training and documentation to end users and technical staff on AI‑integrated systems and workflows.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and vendors; provide recommendations for platform adoption aligned with county standards.
  • Provide on‑call support as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science or a closely related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible programming and systems analysis experience. One (1) year of experience must have included responsibility for project management and implementation. In lieu of the degree requirements additional relevant experience may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis.

Experience in the following:

  • Enterprise systems integration with APIs, middleware, and data pipelines.
  • Power Automate, Logic Apps, or similar automation tools.
  • Azure or AWS cloud services.
