Field Service Technician (Contract-to-Hire)

Location: Orlando, FL (Onsite)
Pay Rate: Target $25/hr-$28/hr
Schedule: Onsite with up to 25% travel (primarily domestic; occasional international possible)

SNI Technology has partnered with an organization in the Orlando area seeking a Technical Support & Field Service Technician to join their team on a contract-to-hire basis. This role is primarily office-based, supporting clients remotely, with approximately 75% of support conducted over the phone, and the remaining time spent traveling to client sites for hands-on support.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working with hardware, and providing technical assistance in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide phone-based technical support for hardware and system-related issues (approximately 75% of the role)
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues while delivering strong customer service
  • Install, configure, and support computer and electronic hardware systems
  • Read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams for troubleshooting and setup
  • Document and manage service requests through a ticketing system
  • Travel to client sites for equipment installation, configuration, and support as needed
  • Assist with setup, breakdown, and movement of technical equipment
Required Qualifications
  • Prior experience in phone-based technical support (required)
  • Hands-on experience with hardware installation and configuration
  • Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Experience with electrical or low-voltage systems
  • Comfortable using hand tools
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using ticketing systems
  • Previous field service experience
  • Technical degree or certification (electronics, computer hardware, or related)
  • Strong general computer skills
Additional Requirements
  • Active passport required
  • Must be open to up to 25% travel (primarily domestic; occasional international)
  • Ability to lift and move equipment as needed
  • Candidates will typically be home on weekends
