Position Summary

The NOC Overnight Supervisor plays a critical role in Summit Broadband’s 24x7 Network Operations Center. This experienced professional leads the overnight shift, owning network performance, change management, service assurance, and customer experience. Responsibilities include driving change management, NOC KPIs, and incident management processes; assisting and supporting NOC technicians with incidents, outage resolution, escalations, dispatches, shift management, reporting, and training; and driving process improvements.

Job Functions
  • Supervises staff of NOC professionals monitoring Summit Broadband’s network on a 24x7 basis
  • Exemplifies detailed understanding of Incident Management and Incident Commander responsibilities
  • Manages employee PTO and emergency leave to ensure shift coverage is maintained
  • Provides initial training to new employees before they are put on shift
  • Provides training when new systems or services are integrated into the network
  • Performs yearly certification of employees to confirm competence
  • Develops procedural documentation for staff and recommends changes for documentation outside of their area of responsibility
  • Develops reports on staff workload and identifies risks
  • Manages upward communication with leadership
  • Writes and reviews Request for Outages (RFOs)
  • All other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP technology including IP addressing and subnet masking
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting network issues in both LAN and large WAN environments
  • Knowledge of command‑line interfaces for Juniper, Nokia, and Ciena
  • Knowledge of trace routes, ping tests, and data capture evaluation
  • Knowledge of voice communications systems deployed over IP infrastructure
  • Knowledge of video delivery systems and IPTV
  • Knowledge of common test equipment and techniques to troubleshoot voice and data communications
  • Basic knowledge of Linux distributions
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
  • Existing supervisory experience in a high‑paced NOC environment
  • Knowledge of Meta Voice Switching platform
  • Holder of one or more network certifications (CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, etc.) preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Word processing, spreadsheets, internet software, e‑mail, database software; good communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Education and Experience

BS degree and/or 8–12 years of prior relevant experience.
