Position: Enterprise Architect (Information Technology)

JOB SUMMARY:

The Enterprise Architect is a leader for global enterprise architecture. As part of the role, the Architect will work closely with executive leadership to implement an Enterprise Architect to support the global vision and technology roadmap. The Enterprise Architect will lead and work closely with a team of solution Architects to ensure implementation and conformance to enterprise standards and designs. The Architect is expected to stay up to date with new and changing technologies including new architecture frameworks.

The Architect will collaborate with teams outside of architecture including project management, security, infrastructure, devops, quality engineering, application delivery, data architecture and business transformation. They are assumed to be a subject matter expert that these teams can rely on.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Enterprise Solution Design – Able to interpret high level requirements, aligning an enterprise strategy and creating an enterprise level design. Create documentation around this design and able to present to executive level. Designs should be global in nature and implementable by development teams.
  • Enterprise Framework & Platform Rationalization – Establish and lead an enterprise framework for enterprise architecture such as TOGAF. Work with other relative leaders and others in architecture to enforce framework design. Use framework to design in implement long term strategic goals for application and platform rationalization.
  • Technology Strategy – Drive long term architectural vision and strategy to support business needs. Validate solution designs match to the enterprise design and long-term architectural vision.
  • Business Process Management – Work with business and technology teams to perform process analysis, modeling, automation, and optimization while following governance and compliance models.
  • Technical Collaboration & Expertise – Collaborate with other teams including delivery, project management, product, business transformation, quality engineering, IT security, infrastructure, and on-site support teams. Provide deep technical architecture and enterprise-wide subject matter expertise.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar is required.
  • A master’s degree is preferred but not mandatory.
EXPERIENCE:
  • 10+ years in IT experience with large integrated projects or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years performing enterprise architecture.
  • 5+ years in architecture or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience leading development projects, strategic planning and resource management and implementation of large-scale applications.
  • Proven successful experience working with vendors ensuring they deliver based on development and delivery requirements outlined.
  • Experience working with agile techniques and mythologies;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
  • Extensive experience with an enterprise architecture framework like TOGAF.
  • Extensive experience with an enterprise rationalization toolset.
  • Expertly skilled and motivated individual that can work effectively and positively in a highly complex, dynamic working environment with a proven track record of delivering large, customized solutions on time and on budget.
  • Broad technical knowledge across the industry with proven experience in implementing complex solutions and demonstrating a solid track record of success.
  • Strong presentation skills with repeated including creating presentations and talking in front of large groups of people including executive leadership.
  • Experience setting and enforcing architectural governance standards and best practices.
  • Effective analytical, written, and oral communication skills, and be able to explain complex concepts both concisely and simply to technical & non-technical audience.
