Summary
Senior Manager, Strategic Planning & Competitive Intelligence plays a key role in advancing the organization’s enterprise strategy through strategic planning and reporting, competitive intelligence, and executive decision support.
This role serves as a strategic partner to the Senior Director, Global Strategy, working with senior leadership, cross‑functional teams, and external partners to translate market dynamics, organizational priorities, and data into clear recommendations and decision‑ready materials. The manager supports the enterprise strategic planning process, contributes to high‑priority initiatives, enhances the competitive intelligence capability, and applies AI‑enabled workflows to improve speed, quality, and scalability of research, synthesis, and reporting.
EssentialResponsibilities Strategic Planning & Reporting
- Design, execute, and evolve the organization’s strategic plan reporting process.
- Manage the enterprise strategic planning calendar and coordinate cross‑functional participation.
- Understand business rationale, success measures, risks, and interdependencies across initiatives.
- Partner with business unit leaders to assess progress, identify gaps, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Lead development of executive- and board‑ready reporting on strategy execution and KPIs, including dashboards, presentations, and briefings.
- Drive alignment and communication of the strategic plan across the organization and global network.
- Manage timelines, deliverables, and follow‑through for planning and reporting activities.
- Facilitate planning meetings, working sessions, and follow‑up actions.
- Develop and continuously improve the organization’s competitive intelligence capability.
- Monitor competitors, peer organizations, adjacent sectors, and emerging entrants.
- Produce regular and ad‑hoc intelligence outputs tailored for executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Synthesize insights across offerings, pricing, partnerships, digital capabilities, and operating models.
- Integrate competitive intelligence into strategic planning, product strategy, partnerships, and decision support.
- Develop RFPs and manage vendors and intelligence partners.
- Maintain recurring intelligence cadences, deliverables, and follow‑up.
- Support initiatives requiring strategic framing, analysis, and insight generation.
- Frame complex strategic questions, develop hypotheses, and evaluate options before implementation.
- Conduct advanced analyses such as market sizing, scenario planning, benchmarking, and business case development.
- Translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations and decision‑support materials.
- Lead work streams and support cross‑functional initiatives with enterprise‑wide impact.
- Coordinate stakeholders, manage project timelines, and drive follow‑through.
- Apply AI tools and agent‑based workflows to accelerate research, insight generation, synthesis, and reporting.
- Design responsible, repeatable AI‑enabled workflows across strategy and intelligence processes.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging AI tools and approaches that improve efficiency and scalability.
- Identify automation opportunities in strategic planning and reporting workflows.
- Support testing, refinement, and adoption of AI‑enabled processes across recurring strategy and intelligence work.
- 8+ years in management consulting, corporate strategy, strategic planning, competitive intelligence, or related roles.
- Experience supporting executive‑level decision making.
- Ability to operate independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver quickly.
- Preferred experience in professional associations or multi‑stakeholder environments.
- Preferred experience managing projects or work streams with cross‑functional stakeholders and tight timelines.
- Strong judgment connecting external developments to enterprise decisions.
- Advanced problem‑structuring and hypothesis‑driven analysis skills.
- Proven ability to develop executive‑ and board‑ready materials.
