Sr. Export Control / Compliance Specialist

Overview

Join OST’s team supporting mission-critical DoD programs, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring compliance with U.S. export control regulations across international and defense-related efforts. This position works closely with program teams, contracts, and leadership to support export-controlled activities, mitigate risk, and enable successful global program execution.

Description of specific duties in a typical workday for this position:

  • Support export control and compliance activities across DoD and international programs
  • Review program documentation, contracts, and technical data to identify export control considerations (ITAR/EAR)
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of export authorizations, licenses, agreements, and exemptions
  • Provide guidance to program teams on handling export-controlled information and foreign disclosure requirements
  • Partner with contracts, legal, and security teams to ensure compliance across program activities
  • Support development and maintenance of internal compliance procedures, documentation, and training materials
  • Assist with audits, compliance reviews, and tracking of export-related activities and metrics
  • Stay current on export control regulations and support implementation of updates across programs

Requirements (Years of experience, Education, Certifications):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, International Relations, Law, Security, Engineering, or related field
  • 5–10+ years of experience supporting export control, compliance, contracts, or international program activities
  • Experience with ITAR and/or EAR regulations (direct or supporting role)
  • Experience reviewing contracts, technical data, or program activities for compliance considerations
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with program teams, contracts, and leadership

Nice to Have (skills that are not required, but nice to have):

  • Experience supporting DoD, Army, or Federal programs
  • Exposure to export licensing, agreements, or foreign disclosure processes
  • Familiarity with FMS (Foreign Military Sales) or international program environments
  • Experience working with contracts, legal, or compliance teams
  • Formal training or certification related to export control (ITAR/EAR)
