Role Overview

The Automation & Technology Manager owns the architecture, automation framework, data governance strategy, and financial systems infrastructure supporting Global Rental Operations. The role designs, builds, and maintains complex automation solutions across Python, SQL, and cloud data platforms, ensuring secure, scalable, and resilient performance.

Travel Requirements:
Less than 10% travel time.

Responsibilities
  • Owns and maintains the enterprise Python automation environment, including API integrations, file parsing, and desktop automation processes.
  • Designs scalable automation frameworks leveraging Python, SQL, and cloud data platforms (Snowflake).
  • Manages source code standards, version control, documentation, and deployment best practices.
  • Modernizes legacy processes into resilient cloud‑based data pipelines.
  • Defines technical architecture standards across the automation portfolio.
  • Serves as Data Domain Owner for rental, reservation, and payment datasets.
  • Manages data warehouse strategy and SQL data flows between PMS, CRS, and reporting platforms.
  • Ensures data integrity, schema governance, and alignment with enterprise reporting KPIs.
  • Implements monitoring frameworks for data validation, error handling, and reconciliation.
  • Partners with IT and Information Security on data classification and protection standards.
  • Acts as the primary technical administrator for payment gateways (e.g., Braintree, Hyperwallet).
  • Ensures PCI DSS and SOX compliance across all financial automation workflows.
  • Leads payment automation initiatives, including reconciliation uploads and settlement processing.
  • Partners with Accounting to ensure financial data accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Implements fraud monitoring and prevention safeguards within payment integrations.
  • Maintains the automation and data systems roadmap aligned to business strategy.
  • Prioritizes the automation backlog based on operational impact and risk mitigation.
  • Leads cross‑functional technical initiatives such as real‑time inventory synchronization projects.
  • Evaluates new tools and platforms to improve automation performance and scalability.
  • Identifies system vulnerabilities and integration dependencies.
  • Develops contingency plans for automation failures and critical system outages.
  • Ensures documentation supports knowledge transfer and business continuity.
Qualifications
  • Advanced technical certifications preferred (Cloud Data Platforms, Security, Automation Engineering).
  • Continued education in data architecture, security compliance, and enterprise automation best practices.
  • Well‑developed systems architecture and engineering mindset.
  • Advanced analytical and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage highly sensitive financial and customer data.
  • Excellent documentation and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently in high‑impact environments.
  • Advanced Python development (API integrations, automation scripting, error handling).
  • Expert SQL and database management (stored procedures, performance tuning).
  • Advanced Excel and VBA Macros.
  • Snowflake or equivalent cloud data warehouse expertise.
  • Experience with payment gateways and PCI‑compliant systems.
  • Experience with version control systems (Git preferred).
  • Understanding of SOX controls and audit frameworks.
  • Familiarity with ETL pipelines and data orchestration tools.
  • Working knowledge of hospitality platforms (RCC, iHotelier, Opera) preferred.
  • 5–10 years’ experience in automation engineering, data engineering, or technical product ownership.
  • Experience managing sensitive financial data (PII, PCI).
  • Experience leading complex cross‑system automation initiatives.
  • Background in hospitality or travel technology environments preferred.
  • Experience supervising technical contractors or automation engineers preferred.
