Job Description

Analyzes qualitative and quantitative clinical, financial, and administrative data. Synthesizes results into meaningful reports, scorecards, and dashboard tools. Develops and maintains performance measurement processes, including database development, benchmarking, KPI development, systems documentation, and reporting/dashboard deployment. Conducts regular data mining and extraction from multiple sources. Retrieves, organizes, validates, and delivers data to support research study protocols, preparatory reviews, and feasibility cohort queries.

Provides feedback on data warehouse strategy and supports the development of data delivery guidelines. Serves as a system-wide Honest Broker, adhering to regulatory guidelines and internal policy for de-identification and limited data set delivery. Develops subject matter expertise around research operations and regulations impacting data delivery methods. Facilitates discussions of protocol specifications with scientists, research coordinators, research assistants, and program managers.

Researches data element definitions for optimal data extraction sources and methodologies. Develops and maintains positive customer relationships to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements. Manages complex datasets by identifying, aggregating, cleaning, and validating data from multiple sources for reporting use. Uses analytical techniques to design, develop, and maintain reports, scorecards, and dashboards that support research studies and provide organizational insight.

Conducts financial and operational analyses and interprets results to support business stakeholders in making strategic decisions. Collaborates with other analytics staff to develop and improve analytic products. Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Mastery of desktop applications, including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) [Required]
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages to a variety of audiences throughout the organization [Required]
  • Ability to effectively summarize data, present insights and facilitate discussion of results [Required]
  • Initiative to work independently (self-direction) and ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams for maximum efficiency and effectiveness [Required]
  • Attention to detail that ensures follow-through on all assigned projects [Required]
  • Experience with data mining/extraction tools [Required]
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage efforts across multiple projects and re-establish priorities as necessary to effectively respond to time sensitive issues and meet deadlines [Required]
  • Familiar with data visualization and statistical analysis tools (preferably Power BI, Qlik Products, Tableau, Minitab, R, Stata, or SAS) [Required]
  • Familiar with data management tools and techniques (preferably MS Access and SQL) [Required]
